"Clever, colorful use of everyday materials to create functional works of art". Inspired by artists like Gerhardt Rietveldt, Roy Lichtenstein and Tyree Guyton (Detroit), these pieces are less detail oriented than contemporary folk art pieces but are clearly whimsical (rebellious?), bold and functional. The designs incorporate everyday materials in clever ways to build designs that are both functional and attractive. Our focus is on authenticity, ingenuity, functionality and warmth. In a nod to the maker movement, we are saying, "Start where you are, use what you have, and create something special.
